VALUES
I - Innovate
It is in innovation that we can find our way to sustainability. Innovating research, innovating technology, and innovating the way we think about and interact with the world around us.
S - Solve
We are a solutions-driven organization. There is nothing that exists that cannot be put into balance and harmony with the actors around it, the challenge is in finding the way.
E - Engage
Achieving sustainability cannot be undertaken unilaterally. We seek out and engage all of the stakeholders to help them understand the benefits and necessity of sustainability, and then bring them on board.
A - Act
Innovations, solutions and engagement…………all of these are essential, but without action, their contribution to the final product of a sustainable world will be nominal.
Above all else, we Act.
“SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IS DEVELOPMENT THAT MEETS THE NEEDS OF THE PRESENT WITHOUT COMPROMISING THE ABILITY OF FUTURE GENERATIONS TO MEET THEIR OWN NEEDS."
- THE WORLD COMMISSION ON ENVIRONMENT AND DEVELOPMENT (BRUNTLAND REPORT) (1987)
STRATEGY
The Mongolian Institute for Sustainable Economic Development (MISED) was established in order to provide Mongolia, and Asia, with an innovative, recognized and respected place to turn to for their sustainable development policy, strategy, business and actionable needs.
At MISED, we see Mongolian sustainable development not as a challenge, but as an opportunity. A rare chance filled with promise and potential. We aim to maximize and achieve that potential, for the good of Mongolia, the region and the world in general.
Our strategy is straightforward. We find solutions to today's pressing issues that are sustainable, pragmatic, actionable and profitable. We deliver results to our clients.
For the purpose of continuity and longevity in our actions toward a sustainable Mongolia, we invest deeply in our human resources and employ a small core group of skilled professionals to be with MISED full-time. We maintain our flexibility and responsiveness by incorporating outside and contracted experts as fellows to do the bulk of our research.
These invaluable resources are supplemented by a board of trustees and a panel of advisors that are filled with recognized leaders of sustainable business, development, environment, research, government, technology, design and innovation who help guide the institute on a pathway of success while governing the decision-making with resolute responsibility and transparency.
Partnerships forged through complementary visions further contribute to our successful production of relevant and actionable ideas. Organizational, institutional and individual donors and members of MISED are the bedrock of our success through their contributions, recommendations and critiques.
